A SECOND SUSPECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED IN A NOVEMBER 2020 HOMICIDE IN KINGSPORT.u00a0 IT HAPPENED ON OSAGE DRIVE AS AUTHORITIES FOUND EDUARDO OVIEDO-VELAZCO DEAD FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND.u00a0 IN MAY 2021, POLICE ARRESTED JONATHAN SMITH AND LAST MONTH, A SULLIVAN COUNTY GRAND JURY INDICTED LEKENDRICK MALONE ON MULTIPLE COUNTS, INCLUDING FIRST-DEGREE MURDER.u00a0 ON AUGUST 8, MALONE WAS ARRESTED IN KNOXVILLE BY US MARSHALS AND IS NOW IN THE SULLIVAN COUNTY JAIL.u00a0 KINGSPORT POLICE SAY THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES AND MORE CHARGES ARE LIKELY.

A BOMB THREAT INVOLVING A SCHOOL BUS REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.u00a0 A DRIVER IN THE BLOOMINGDALE AREA OF SULLIVAN COUNTY RECEIVED A CALL THURSDAY AFTERNOON, REGARDING AN ACCUSATION THAT A STUDENT ON THE BUS HAD A BOMB.u00a0 THE DRIVER TOOK ACTION TO MAKE SURE THAT STUDENTS WERE SAFE.u00a0 THE SULLIVAN COUNTY SHERIFFu2019S OFFICE INVESTIGATED AND SAID THERE WASNu2019T A BOMB ON THE BUS OR ANY DANGER TO STUDENTS.

ENROLLMENT UP AT EMORY AND HENRY
