SWVA MAN KILLED WHEN SUV REAR ENDS TRACTOR

CHARGES ARE PENDING AGAINST A SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA WOMAN WHO REPORTEDLY HIT THE BACK OF A TRACTOR WITH AN SUV, KILLING A MAN. ACCORDING TO VIRGINIA STATE POLICE, JUST BEFORE 7:00 PM ON SEPTEMBER 21ST, 25 YEAR OLD CHASITY JONES OF RURAL RETREAT WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON ROUTE 674 IN A NISSAN PATHFINDER, WHEN SHE RAN INTO A FORD FARM TRACTOR PULLING A CORN CHOPPER. THE DRIVER OF THE TRACTOR, 59 YEAR OLD CHARLES R CREGGER OF CROCKETT, WAS EJECTED FROM THE TRACTOR AND DIED AT THE SCENE. STATE POLICE SAY JONES, WHO WAS NOT WEARING A SEATBELT SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES. SPECIFIC CHARGES HAVE NOT YET BEEN PLACE. THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

CASE ADVANCE FOR MAN ACCUSED IN KILLING OF MILLIGAN UNIVERSITY ATHLETE

THE MAN CHARGED IN THE DEATH OF A MILLIGAN UNIVERSITY ATHLETE HAS HAD HIS CASE BOUND OVER TO A GRAND JURY. JOSE EFRAIN HERNANDEZ MANCIA OF WILLIAMSBURG VIRGINIA WAS ARRESTED AFTER THE MARCH 2022 CRASH THAT KILLED ELI CRAMER, A SOPHOMORE MEMBER OF THE MILLIGAN CROSS COUNTRY TEAM. VIRGINIA STATE POLICE REPORTED THAT MANCIA FLED THE SCENE OF THE CRASH, AFTER HITTING THREE MEMBERS OF THE TEAM. THE GRAND JURY IS SCHEDULED TO MEET ON NOVEMBER 15TH. MANCIA IS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR FOR A STATUS HEARING ON NOVEMBER 17TH. HE WAS CHARGED AT THE TIME OF HIS ARREST WITH DUI, DUI-INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER, ONE FELONY COUNT OF HIT AND RUN, RECKLESS DRIVING, DUI-MAIMING, AND DUI-REFUSAL TO SUBMIT A BREATH/BLOOD SAMPLE.

AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING, AFTER A BODY WAS FOUND IN A KINGSPORT RESIDENCE LAST WEEK. ACCORDING TO THE SULLIVAN COUNTY SHERIFFu2019S OFFICE, DEPUTIES WERE DISPATCHED TO A HOUSE ON HORSESHOE DRIVE ON SEPTEMBER 19TH, IN REFERENCE TO A 911 HANG-UP CALL. WHEN AUTHORITIES TRIED TO CALL THE NUMBER BACK, NO ONE COULD BE REACHED. OFFICERS AT THE RESIDENCE WERE MET BY 37 YEAR OLD COREY VAUGHN, POINTING A FIREARM AT THEM. INSIDE THE HOME, OFFICERS FOUND THE BODY OF 37 YEAR OLD MATTHEW ISENBERG. HIS DEATH IS BEING CLASSIFIED AS SUSPICIOUS.
